Yesterday

I heard children laughing

But today

there's only crying. Everything I've worked to own

Disappeared and won't return.

Used to say friends can wait

till tomorrow.

Now I'm faced with loss

grief and sorrow.

Once I thought I'd live forever

Now I'm not so sure.

When the earth it quakes and

oceans rise

to still the raging waters
