Look upon my face O Father
I have come to seek you in this place
For I long to give reflection
To the awesome glory of Your grace
Search my soul and heart to see
Traces of my Lord in me
But the blemishes of ages
Fall across my eyes as though a veil
As I stumble back and turn
I realise I could not bear Your gaze
Therein lies the stain of sin
Bowed and broken child within
If I close my eyes completely
Maybe I will see me as You do
Not a broken child
but precious
Someone that You long to be with too
As the truth brings me to tears
